Request for sharing an online study on academic writing

Dear students,

I am Ecenaz Alemdag, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for post-doctoral research at TU Dresden.

I am conducting research on self- and peer-assessment in academic writing and striving to access potential participants for this study approved by the Ethics Committee at TU Dresden.

My current target group includes all psychology (bachelor/master’s/doctoral) students & master’s and doctoral students from all disciplines with English skills. The participants will complete the following tasks in English in the online environment: (1) studying assessment criteria of academic abstracts, (2) writing an academic abstract for a scientific study, (3-4) assessing and giving feedback on their own and peers’ abstracts, and (5) revising the initial abstract.

Although the aforementioned tasks take a maximum of 2 hours (average 1-1.5 hours), they can be relatively beneficial for participants to enhance their writing and assessment skills. In addition, they will get 20 € if they complete all tasks. You can also see the flyer of the study here.

The link to the study website for participation is: https://write-assess.com/

I would like to kindly ask if you can share the information about this study with potential participants (e.g., master’s and doctoral students) in your faculty.

If there are any questions concerning this study, I would like to respond to them.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Dr. Ecenaz Alemdag
